Boris Mikhailovich Dmitriev was the commander of the sabotage group № 211 of the K.K. Rokossovsky partisan detachment in the temporarily occupied territory of the Mogilev region of the Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic. He was born on June 11, 1924 in Moscow in the family of an employee. In 1941 he finished the 9th grade of the school. He was a participant of the Great Patriotic War. In 1942 he graduated from a special school of demolition miners, after which in July 1942 he was sent to the partisan group of G.N. Borozny (since January 1943 – the 211st partisan detachment named after K.K. Rokossovsky), which operated in the Osipovichi district of the Mogilev region temporarily occupied by German troops of the territory of the Belarusian SSR. Komsomol member Boris Dmitriev was the commander of the sabotage group. He personally participated in the bombing of eighteen enemy echelons, as a result of which one thousand two hundred and sixty Hitlerites were killed, eight tanks, thirty-two cars, eleven guns, one hundred and fifty-four tons of fuel were destroyed. Boris Dmitriev trained fourteen guerrilla bombers. The sabotage groups that he led blew up one thousand four hundred railway rails, eleven railway and thirty-two highway bridges, twenty-two cars and three enemy tanks. B.M. Dmitriev died in battle on February 23, 1944. Initially, he was buried in the village of Lozovaya, the Osipovichi district, the Mogilev region, the Byelorussian SSR. He was reburied in a mass grave in the city of Osipovichi, the Mogilev region. By the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of August 15, 1944 Boris Dmitriev was posthumously awarded the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union for exemplary performance of government tasks in the fight against the Nazi invaders behind enemy lines and for his courage and heroism and for special merits in the development of the partisan movement in Belarus. He was awarded the Order of Lenin, the medal «Partisan of the Patriotic War» of the 1st degree.
