Monument to the students of the school who died in the Great Patriotic War
The stele was opened in 1975 for the 30th anniversary of the Victory. The names and surnames of twenty-one people who studied at 87 schools and died defending their motherland are carved on the pedestal. The most severe consequences of the Great Patriotic War for the Soviet Union are its human losses – military personnel and civilians, amounting to 26.6 million people. The specified number of total human losses includes military personnel and partisans killed in battle and who died of wounds and diseases, starved to death, civilians killed during bombing, artillery shelling and punitive actions, prisoners of war shot and tortured in concentration camps, underground workers, as well as workers, peasants and employees stolen for hard labor.
