Mosolov

Georgy Konstantinovich Mosolov was a test pilot, aviation colonel, the Hero of the Soviet Union (1960), Honored Test Pilot of the USSR (1967), Honored Master of Sports of the USSR (1965). He graduated the V.P. Chkalov Central Aero Club in 1943, which at that time was evacuated to Kazan. He had been in the Red Army since 1944. In 1945 he graduated the school of initial training of pilots in 1945, in 1948 – the Chuguev Military Aviation School of Pilots, in 1949 – the Higher Officer Aviation Instructor School (Grozny). He was an instructor pilot at the Chuguev Aviation School until 1951. He graduated the school of test pilots in 1953 and MAI in 1959. In 1953-1962 he was on flight test work in the Design Bureau of A.I. Mikoyan, in 1959-1962 he was a senior test pilot of the Design Bureau. He worked as a leading engineer at the OKB flight station. Georgy Mosolov had been in reserve since 1966. He worked as the head of the Department of military-patriotic education of the Higher Komsomol School, until 1992 he was the representative of Aeroflot in foreign countries. He made the first flight and conducted flight tests of 27 experienced fighters, including the MiG-17, MiG-19 and MiG-21. He had set six world aviation records (three of them are absolute) and three All-Union absolute records. He was a member of the presidium of the All-Russian public Organization of Veterans «Russian Union of Veterans». He was awarded 2 Orders of Lenin, the Order of the Red Star, the medal «For Military Merit» and other medals. He was awarded three de Laveau medals and three All-Union gold medals.
