Veremey
1915-1998
Ivan Nikolayevich Veremey was a military figure, Major-General of tank troops, the Hero of the Soviet Union. He graduated the military-political college in Kalinin (now this city is named Tver), participated in the Great Patriotic War. Guards Lieutenant Colonel I.N. Vermei distinguished himself during the Vistula-Oder offensive – a self-propelled artillery regiment on the night of January 28, 1945 in the area of Mikoluv engaged 40 enemy tanks, of which 8 were knocked out, and the rest retreated. For January 1945 the regiment under the command of Ivan Nikolaevich Veremey knocked out 26 tanks and self-propelled guns of the enemy, destroyed 17 field guns, 4 mortar batteries, 120 vehicles and armored personnel carriers, and a lot of enemy manpower. For his courage and heroism, he was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union. In 1953 he graduated from the Voroshilov Higher Military Academy. From April 1961 to August 1963, he served as Assistant Commander for Combat Training – the Head of the Combat Training Department of the 8th Tank Army of the Carpathian Military District. In 1963 he went into reserve.
Boris Ivanovich
Veremey

Boris Ivanovich Veremey was a test pilot. In 1955 he graduated the aviation school of pilots in Armavir, after which he served in air defense units. In 1961 he was discharged as a captain. In 1962 he graduated the test pilot school, after which he was on flight test work. He was a test pilot at the Kazan Aviation Plant in 1962-1965 and in Tupolev Design Bureau in the 1965-2000-ies. He participated in the testing of Tu-16, TU-22, Tu-124, Tu-134, Tu-154 aircraft, as well as their various modifications. December 18, 1981 he was the first to take the newest strategic bomber Tu-160 into the sky, in 1983 he set 12 aviation records on the Tu-144 aircraft. For courage and heroism in the development of new military equipment, he was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union. In 1989 he set 22 aviation records for altitude, speed and payload on the Tu-160. In 2000 he retired from flight test work and became a methodologist engineer at JSC “Tupolev”.
