Sudakov

Mikhail Pavlovich Sudakov was the commander of the tank platoon of the 2nd Guards Tank Brigade of the 33rd Army of the Western Front, a Guard senior lieutenant. He finished an incomplete secondary school (grades 7). He lived in the city of Lyublino (now a district of the hero city of Moscow). There he finished the FSU school at the Lublin Foundry and Mechanical Plant and worked as a locksmith at the same plant. He was in the Red Army since 1939. In 1941 he left the regimental school. He was a participant of the Great Patriotic War since June 1941, including the Battle for Moscow. He was a member of the CPSU (b) since 1943. The commander of the tank platoon of the 2nd Guards Tank Brigade (33rd Army, Western Front) of the Guards, Senior Lieutenant Mikhail Sudakov, especially distinguished himself in 1943 in the winter battles for the liberation of the Vitebsk region of the Byelorussian SSR. On December 25-29, 1943 at the Vitebsk-Smolensk railway and on the Vitebsk – Orsha highway Sudakov with tankers entrusted to him, destroyed 10 firing points, 10 anti-tank guns, 6 mortars, 2 armored vehicles, 16 vehicles, 2 assault guns, and killed more than one and a half hundred Nazis. On December 30, 1943, Guard Senior Lieutenant Mikhail Sudakov died a brave death in battle. He was buried in a mass grave in the village of Liozno, the Lioznensky district of the Vitebsk region of the Republic of Belarus. By the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated April 24, 1944, Senior Lieutenant Mikhail Pavlovich Sudakov was posthumously awarded the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union for exemplary performance of combat missions of the command at the front of the fight against the German invaders and the courage and heroism of the Guard shown at the same time.
